My 2005 2.0 Ltr Ghia TDCi MK3 Mondeo is approaching 95,000 miles. What sort of life span does this diesel engine have? For info, I do 14,000 miles a year, don't hammer it on the motorway and don't do too much town driving.

The F-super should be fine. It works on my late 03 and late 06 Mondeo Tdci. There is a more expensive option discussed extensively in this forum, but the f-super has done everything I needed including recoding the injectors. Knowing the FRP is a vital diagnostic for an engine that does not run and the f-super will give you that.

242 posts · Joined 2009. #1 · Dec 21, 2009. hi all im having trouble timing up my engine its a 2.2 tdci but im doing a conversion to a 2.2 tddi (see my other thread) ive got side cover off and locked crankshaft fuel pump and cams so all lines up but when i take the locking tools out and rotate the engine with a bar to double check timing

I have a similar intermittent fault on my mondeo 2.0 tdci 2005. When the engine is cold the car runs fine, but once it warms up and I restart the car, the glow-plug-warning-light flashes, and the actuator arm stops functioning (ie it doesnt move) and the engine goes into limp mode.

228 posts · Joined 2009. #2 · Feb 20, 2011. cant tell you the differences but i can say a friend has a 115bhp mondeo which goes as well if not better than my 130bhp tdci both estate cars of 2002 vintage. would suggest a complete loom and ecu maybe required for the 115 bhp lump though. sure some one will chime in soon with more information.

Ok, so my 2.0 tdci mondeo 130, has start to vibrate at idle. whilst sitting behind the wheel at the traffic lights its rather uncomfortable, almost like the engine is misfiring, but as soon as u apply the throttle its fine! It goes away after the engine reaches a temp of 90 degrees. Thought it maybe a glow plug, but tested them and they seem fine.
