So, I saw the Canon 24-105 STM on Canon Rumors and I was kinda dissapointed. I really wanted a Mark II version of the 24-105 f4L. I like the new lens and all, but its f3.5-5.6 I hope the new 24-105 STM is sharper. Should I wait for this lens or get the f4L?

Posted March 22, 2011. 24-105mm is generally sharper than the 28-135mm. But the 28-135mm lens is actually a 28-120mm lens labeled as 28-135mm. U can shoot at it's "135mm" and compare it with any other 135mm lens. U will see that it is actually a 120mm lens at the tele end..

^{The normal price now is $125, and is still a very low price for such a lens. I don't have the 24-105mm L, so i can't really compare but regarding colors, I am pleased with the picture below that was taken with my 50mm 1.8 STM, no polarizer, just plain lens with a UV filter on it and the Canon lens hood. I recently tried taking some landscape and cemetery photos with my 6D MII and the Canon EF 24-105mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM in full moon light. (Yes, I know that's not an ideal lens for nighttime photography.) Getting the right focus was by far the most difficult thing about it. The EF 24-105mm STM employs 17 elements in 13 groups and a variable focal ratio of f3.5-5.6 with a seven blade aperture system, and offers a four-stop optical stabiliser and a closest focusing distance of 40cm. The barrel measures 83mm in diameter, 104mm in length (when zoomed-out to 24mm), weighs 525g and employs a 77mm filter thread.
